- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★My name is Jason I was born and raised in Kingston surrounded by apple and fruit farms. When I was a kid we did the apple run every fall to Picton. Years latter now that I’m older and have kids of my own I wanted my kids to know the fun I had as a young boy it was hard to find a place like I went to when I was a kid.me and my wife sat down this morning and looked up places to pick and found Windwood farms the web sit was not too flashy and looked like the farm from when I was a by so we decided to check it out and boy was I glad we did. very friendly made you feel welcome right from the start the young man I believe he was the son gave us a quick lesson on how to properly pick an apple as not to hurt the tree and insure a good crop for years to come all these years I had no idea I was doing it wrong. Nice set up lots of fruit and lots of upcoming events the son told us about my kids had a blast and asked if we can do it over again next year. - ★ ★ ★ ★ ★I picked this farm because it's not too commercialize. The owners are very friendly and the apples are huge, very sweet. I love the fact that the owner will give you a quick lesson on proper way to pick apples. The farm is very tidy and organized. There's also a sitting area to eat with picnic tables and chairs. I wished that we had the chance to sit around and enjoy the ambience but my group is on schedule, maybe next time next year. They have assorted apple trees and they also have pears and plums. They also have pumpkins and gourds. My group has a great time during our visit on Sept 26 2015. I'm going to post some pictures taken during our visit.
